A hot and windy day welcomed the team’s first group of students to the FSAE Lincoln event in Lincoln, NE early Tuesday on the first day of competition. As the rest of the team, spanning mostly across the state of Missouri, made their way toward the Cornhusker State, this small group of team members worked their way through the “Take-a-Number” line hopeful to receive an advantageous spot for technical inspection. As the line continued to move, a small portion of the available members began setting up and preparing the team’s paddock area for yet another exciting yet stressful week of competition. With a less than satisfactory tech inspection number in hand, the team continued to make final adjustments to both the car and the paddock in order to gain confidence in the plan of passing with zero issues as soon as the car was pulled in for inspection. As the day progressed, and the temperature continued to rise, the first day of competition came to a close with technical inspection closing before #3’s tech number was called. This only called for hard work to come in the morning, and nothing else as the team was continent with holding of the first major event in competition confident of a rule abiding car and a quick and confident start to day number two.
